It is someone who is very empathetic to the energies around them, soaking in the vibrations around them, old or new from objects, places & people, which in return can affect one’s mood greatly, especially if you are unaware of your clairvoyant connection. When you are an Empath, it is easy to find yourself on a roller-coaster of emotions. However, it’s important to remember that these are not your own emotions, but the emotions of all those who surround you, whether happy, sad or angry, you are going to absorb this clash of feelings, leaving you tired and aggravated at the end of each day. The good news is that there are some things you can do to overcome this crazy emotional ride so that you can keep climbing your spiritual ladder with ease & block out all that does not serve you for the better.
Here are some tips to remain strong within your own energy field if your an Empath:
1.) Be aware of the fact that you are susceptible to energies. It may be hard for some to admit at first, but the truth is, it is real. You are highly sensitive to the people, places & objects you encounter. The more awareness you have of this, the more control you have over it.
2.) Avoid frequently visiting people or places that give you ‘bad vibes’ or drain your energy. As an avid fan on antiques, I suffered for a long time with antique stores. Getting waves of hot flashes, mood swings, headaches and more amongst certain spots in the antique shops & to make it worse, I wasn’t aware of why this was happening to me, triggering further aggravation, until we’d finally leave the quaint shops. Once I became aware that I was so sensitive to these sometimes stagnant or low vibrational energies, I knew I needed to avoid them until I was spiritually stronger.
3.) Stay Positive! No magick works better than the power of positivity, if you must encounter draining environments or people, amp your self up & create a strong shielding energy around yourself before entering. Become aware of “your bubble,” and take certain people in small doses & walk away when you feel your energy starting to drain. Gossip & complaining is the fastest way to deplete your batteries, so stray from any talks of this nature as much as possible!
4.) Use the power of crystals, whether you understand exactly how they work or not, you just need to believe! Carry a pocket stone or wear a piece of jewelry that reflects negativity & offers protection to your psychic abilities. Black tourmaline, Black Onyx or Obsidian, Smokey Quartz, Amethyst & Fluorite crystals are just to name a few of the stones that can greatly help keep your aura strong when you must be in places or around people that weaken your energy levels. Many of these crystals dissolve the low vibrational energies, so that they dissipate into nothingness or become so weak that they are easier to manage.
5.) Make amulets of herbs to wear for protection against your energy or make use of specific oils & blends to create that strong shield in times of need. Lavender is an herb of love, the highest vibration we can achieve, not only does ‘Love’ push away harmful energies, but Lavender also corresponds with the third eye and psychic qualities, offering great psychic protection & keeping you calm through trying times. Cloves are powerful for protection as well, creating a stimulant of awareness at the same time. White sage purifies the mind, pushing aside anything that is not of the greater good. St. John’s Wort & Juniper Berry are strong in banishing properties and releasing negative energies that can be at risk of manifesting into something stronger.
6.) Make time to meditate on creating a strong bubble of protection daily! If you find yourself very sensitive to all that is happening around you, right down to the weather playing an intense role in your moods, make daily meditation a habit. If you can find a quiet place to sit for at least 20 minuets in the morning & at night; work on envisioning pure white light around you, this is your energy shield, trust that no other energies will penetrate it, unless YOU allow it.
7.) Take a weekly Salt bath. Salt if one of the purest things on our earth, it helps to pull toxins from the body, leaving you feeling relaxed and refreshed. It gently disperses negative energies within your aura that have attached to you throughout the week, allowing you to physically feel ‘lighter’ when you get out of the tub.
8.) When energies get to intense on your mind and body, learn how to ground the energy, by literally going barefoot on mother earth. Visualize the chaotic energy being wiped clean from head to feet, then channel it out of your feet and back into the ground, as if burying it.
9.) Before going somewhere or having people over, smudge yourself with sage to ‘start fresh,’ within your own energy, make sense of that vibration and try to hold it as long as possible while you are amongst a group. This is your true energy, if new unwanted emotions start to arise, take note and simply release them. No need to absorb more drama into your spirit. When you return home, smudge yourself yet again to wipe the slate clean once more. Make sure to smudge under your feet as this is the roots and connection to the earth.
10.) Don’t allow yourself to become the victim. Self pity does nothing to strengthen yourself physically or spiritually. Just understand how energies work around you and be aware so that you always remain in charge of the energy that YOU bring.
